Heart of a Man - Website Design
Heart of a Man is a platform created to connect men with mental health resources and provide them with merchandise that will keep them motivated.
The Scope: Re-design a website for Heart of a Man
Timeline: 3 weeks (Oct 2019)
My Role: UX Designer & Researcher
Tools: Figma
Project Goals
1. Gain more information about mental health resources.
2. Read stories about others and their journey.
3. Buy “merch to motivate”.
The Problem
There needs to be a platform which would provide men with resources to address their mental health conditions, allowing them to connect with each other, and giving them the ability to spread awareness to reach others.
THE PROCESS
Research
1. We started my research phase by conducting online surveys. These gave us insights into the general publics mental health conditions, their access to resources, and their pain points when it came to mental health support.
2. We moved onto conducting interviews with the clients who had previously attended Heart of a Man support groups or utilized other services.
3. Lastly, we performed a competitive and comparative analysis to see how Heart of a Man does compared to its competitors.
Analysis
1. Based on the data we were able to collect, we were able to create 3 personas
2. Using our primary persona, we created customer journey maps to pinpoint the opportunities of the website.
Design
1. Sketching out as many Lo-Fis as possible while determining the information architecture of the app.
2. Mid-Fidelity ideation and testing based on pre-determined heuristics
3. High fidelity designs
